Grapes at the Center

Outside the New York Wine & Culinary Center there are a few token grape vines. The grapes are growing really well.

"Cat on the Bench" wine.

A fitting label for a wine produced "on the Beamsville Bench". However, at $100 a bottle, I won't be buying this wine!

2011 Vintage

With all the hot weather we're having in Ontario this year, the grapes are progressing quite well. If this keeps up it maybe an early harvest. Taken at Hillebrand Estates Winery.

2011 Vintage

After a slow start in Spring, these grapes are coming along quite nicely. If the hot weather keeps up, it should be another good year for wine. A little rain would help, however.

1989 Inniskillin Cabernet

While visiting Inniskillin on Saturday, we were lucky enough to try the 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc. Still a really good wine considering it's almost 22 years old!

Calamus "Red" is now "Reserve Red"

Calamus Estate Winery's "Calamus Red" has been renamed "Reserve Red" since it's now going into the LCBO. I was asked to take this bottle shot for their website.

Icewine Grape Harvest

They were machine-picking the Icewine grapes in the Vineyards across from our house yesterday. It was too cold to go outside and take a photo but I found this one taken a couple of years ago at Harbour Estates Winery.

Grapes for Icewine

An artist friend recently asked me if I had any photos of Icewine grapes that she could use as a reference for illustrating a book she is working on. Upon looking, I realized I had only one such photo. I have to get out more in the winter!!!!
