Plane Over Southbrook

There were lots of planes and gliders in the sky the day we visited Southbrook Winery. Unfortunately I didn't have my telephoto lens on the camera and had to crop this photo. Otherwise, it would have been a dot in the picture.

Inside Southbrook

This is the sign just inside Southbrook Winery. We went there for Open Doors Niagara. We were lucky enough to have a tour with owner, Bill Redelmeier who told us all about the architecture of the building and some of the special features.

Southbrook Winery

It was a beautiful clear day when we visited Southbrook Winery which participated in Doors Open Niagara. The building was designed by Jack Diamond and has won international awards.

Angles

Taken at Southbrook Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The winery was part of Doors Open Niagara. I photographed this section of the winery building because of the different angles. I may enter it in the Doors Open photo contest.

Autumn Rose

The roses were still blooming in our side yard yesterday. I shot this one just as the sun was setting. Note the bee in between the petals.

Old Sawmill in Autumn

This old sawmill is on Konkle Road in Beamsville. We noticed today that the property is for sale. We hope the new owners don't tear it down. If so, it would be a real shame!

Hand-crushing Baco Noir Grapes

Getting back to basics. We picked Baco Noir grapes yesterday and they were crushed using this hand-cranked crusher. You would not want to do this with a huge supply of grapes!

Baco Noir Grape Juice

We picked Baco Noir grapes today and hand de-stemmed the grapes. This was the resulting juice going into a pail.
