Kathy's Painting

My friend, Kathy, who's in Florida right now, liked my photo of the abandoned barn in this year's online Christmas card so much that she did a small painting of it in one day!

Friends?

This Ragdoll cat and German Shepherd seem to tolerate each other! It could be that they were both tired.

Old Barn on 11th Street

While visiting a farm on 11th Street in St. Catharines today, I noticed this old barn from the road. The trees and bushes were cleared and I got a perfect view of the landscape.

One of our wine club members invited us to her farm near the Village of Jordan this morning to see her kittens. As we arrived we saw this peacock by her front door.

Tempting Lawn Chairs

With the cold weather today, it would be nice to be able sit in these 2 chairs with a glass of wine and enjoy the warmth. Taken somewhere in Virginia.

Definitely not TIM Horton's

Horton's Winery is located in Virginia. The tasting room is inside this chateau-like building. There were about 40 different wines available (or so it seemed). I had one of the best Cabernet Francs that I've ever tasted here.

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery, St. Davids. The William Woodruff House was built in the early 1800's and moved several times before being located and repatriated to St. Davids. The house is now the focal point of the winery "streetscape" operating as the winery store and wine tasting room. Photographed by © F.G. Couch

Old Sawmill on Konkle Road

I'm posting this photo again because I have received a comment from a viewer letting me know this is an old sawmill not a barn as I previously stated. It seems that the equipment is now in the museum at Decew Falls. Photographed by © F.G. Couch

"Once Lush" by Evan King

I recently went to an open-house at Granny's Boot Antique shop in Vineland. The shop now houses the "Grevpode Gallery" specializing in Folk Art paintings. I entered a draw and won a choice of paintings. I rather liked this one and chose it. Photographed with the Nikon D70.

"Calvin" the Archer

Calamus Estate Winery recently held a contest to name the Calamus Archer. The winner was from Toronto. "Calvin" is a combination of the Calamus name and the French word for wine. To see "Calvin" better, click on the image.
