Robins have built a nest in our backyard gazebo. There are three eggs in the nest but I couldn't get my camera in the right position to take a photo of all three. The nest is too close to the roof of the gazebo and I can't get close enough with the large zoom lens.
The daffodils have been blooming for over a week in Beamsville. This one was taken outside of Tawse Winery.
I was asked to photograph the construction of the new tasting room at Calamus Winery. This is a "before" shot taken just over a week ago. This past weekend the concrete was poured for the floor. When completed the tasting room will have a fireplace and an second floor events area.
Another farm animal at Frogpond Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake
There's a lovely house attached to Tawse Winery. This is a photo of one of the garden statues.
I thought I would post one more photo of our front yard crocus before they are no more.
I recently posted a photo of my great nephew, Matthew, taken at his second birthday party. I have to give equal time to my great niece, Bethany. Her fifth birthday will be on July 4th.
I recently found out that this photo was one of the five finalists in the Wine Council of Ontario winter photo competition. I didn't win but it's nice to be included in the finals. The picture was taken at Inniskillin Winery.
I like going to my niece's place with my camera. There are always plenty of colourful toys to photograph.
My great nephew, Matthew, is two year's old today. My niece had a party for him yesterday in Guelph.
There are many farm animals at Frogpond Winery including this rooster.
This animal skull was found on the grounds of Calamus Winery. The owner had put it on an outside window ledge but didn't know what kind of animal it was. Further research by my fellow blogger "photoshopplake" seemed to indicate this might be an Opossum.
Taken from the tasting room at Angels Gate Winery looking south. The vineyards in the background belong to Rosewood Winery.
Since my fellow photo blogger "photoshopphlake" has posted a crocus taken in St. Catharines, I had to show a Beamsville crocus now that they are out in full bloom!
We had to have a closer look at these tulips growing by Angels Gate Winery. We knew it was too soon for these flowers to bloom and we were right --- plastic! They told us inside the tasting room that an older person living nearby was actually seen watering them!
This wooden duck is watching the customers in the Featherstone Winery tasting room.
The first crocus in our front yard came up recently. Because it was a dull day, the flowers did not open up.
Taken inside Featherstone Winery and adjusted in Photoshop.
With the cold spring weather these days, we can only dream of sitting on a dock watching the sun go down and having a glass of wine. This photo of a painting at Fielding Estate Winery helps capture a pleasant summer moment.
Taken with the Olympus Digital Camera which has an amazing macro capability.
The crocus are out on our front lawn today but I didn't get out soon enough to take a photo. This is from the archives.
For a change, a photo taken by someone else. This is "wino-fred" pouring New York State wines at the Toronto Wine and Cheese Show, Mississauga, Ontario.
Posterized flowers.
Since we just finished working for New York State wines at the Wine and Cheese Show in Toronto, I thought it would be appropriate to post a photo taken in the Finger Lakes wine region.
Sue and Fred will be working at the Wine and Cheese Show. This is a photograph of a Hillebrand Trius poster. A limited copy of this poster is hanging in our sitting room.
The original photo, taken in New Zealand, has been merged with textures thanks to Paul Grand who provides free photos of textures on his flickr site.
It wasn't easy to shoot this old barn because there were three watch dogs in the adjoining yard. One of them is in the photo.
A display of buckets for gathering the maple sap hangs at the Agape Sugar Bush.
