Sure Sign of Spring

We were in Scarborough today (part of Toronto) and took this photo with the Kodak camera. It was cold and blowing outside but inside this calla lily was out in bloom.

New Zealand Autumn

We were in New Zealand in April. This is their Autumn. The day before I took this photo the tree was covered in leaves. The next morning just these few leaves remained.

Enough of Winter!

We've had enough of Winter here in the Niagara Peninsula. Time to start thinking of Spring and the flowers that it will bring (isn't that poetic?)

Digging Out After the Storm

Niagara usually misses the bad winter storms. Not this year, however! We received about 2 feet of snow. Lucky, I suppose, since south of the Lake, in New York State they had about 11 feet!

With the frigid temperatures in Niagara this winter, we need a reminder of the warm weather. This Dahlia was taken at the Vineland Research Centre. This photo was published in the local Niagara newspaper and posted on the Region of Niagara website.

Wind Machines

With the frigid winter this year in Niagara, the vineyard owners have to monitor the temperature. If it goes below -20C the wind machines may have to be used. This photo was taken from Fielding Estate Winery in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada

Church at Balls Falls

This is one of the photos I submitted to the Region of Niagara. The colour version was posted on the Region's website and published in a local Niagara newspaper. The Region also used the photograph in their Annual Report and on one of their note cards.

While our friends John & Julie are holidaying in Spain, Sue and I go to visit their two cats, Maggie & Mookie. Sue grooms the cats while I get to watch John's big screen television! Maggie & Mookie are well taken care of by a neighbour while their parents our vacationing in sunny Spain!
